Few European cities can offer you the holiday experience that Barcelona can. The capital of Catalunya truly has its own unique culture, traditions and personality making it the perfect destination for a city break.

Cradled in the North Eastern Mediterranean coast of mainland Spain Barcelona’s location means you can fly from most capital cities in Europe in less than 2 hours. Barcelona offers everything to would expect from a capital city, with fine art, culture, breath-taking architecture, unbeatable food and shopping all within walking distance of a beautiful 4.2 km beach.

Barcelona has a city centre which retains its medieval street plan but also offers some stunning modernist architecture including several buildings by the famous Antoni Gaudí. One of his most well know works, La Sagrada Familia, is a giant basilica attracting visitors from around the world. The city also has dozens of museums dedicated to the likes of Picasso and Miró, as well as one dedicated to the beating heart of the city Barça, Barcelona’s world famous football club!

Once in the city, it’s absolutely necessary to visit Las Ramblas, the most famous street in Barcelona. The 2-kilometer long street consists of 5 boulevards joined to make one long promenade linking the city to the sea. The architecture, designer boutiques and buzzing marketplace along with a choice of cafes, bars and restaurants attract both tourists and locals alike.

While in Barcelona you can sample some of the best seafood the Mediterranean has to offer, or if you prefer, there are plenty of excellent restaurants and bars that offer tapas. Thousands of people visit Las Ramblas every day and night, to shop in the boutiques, watch the performing street artists, and enjoy a meal or coffee in the many restaurants.

No visit to Barcelona would be complete without a visit to the world-famous Camp Nou home of FC Barcelona. If you are not lucky enough to be in the city when Barça play at home, you can still enjoy the Camp Nou experience stadium and museum tour. For motorsport fans, a visit to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya home of the Spanish F1 Grand Prix and Moto GP races is a must.
