Cornwall and Devon

Cornwall and Devon are located on a peninsula out to the Atlantic Ocean in the far south-west of England. As the area is more or less surrounded by beautiful coastline and sandy beaches it is the ideal location for those who enjoy the outdoors. However, with many museums, galleries, tea rooms and restaurants, there is plenty to do on a rainy day.

Devon’s main resort is Torquay, a seaside town which is sometimes known as the English Riviera. Along with fantastic beaches, seaside attractions and great restaurants there are more unusual attractions. Kents Cavern is a maze of prehistoric caves. A must see for any visitor.

Cornwall’s main tourist centres are Falmouth and Newquay, which are especially popular with sailors and surfers. The western headlands of Land’s End and Lizards Point are a spectacular place to see the power of the sea. Inland, the milder climate in the area allows beautiful gardens to bloom. The Eden Project exhibits a range of plant life from around the world.
